300 million for a bagel and coffee, or freedom
Barry Bearek, reporter for the New York Times covering the elections in Zimbabwe, was released from prison in Harare on bail Monday.
Bearek’s Bail was set at 300 million Zimbabwe dollars which is around 10,000 US dollars at official exchange rates but around seven US dollars at black market rates.
